ETA: Oh and the way they killed Ruby, as the woman standing between Sam and Dean, hindering their brotherly love... That looked like a victory of the wincest fans over the kickass chicks fans. I would have appreciated a little subtlety to better bury my head in the sand.

Yeah, having one brother killing her would have been perfectly good. The two of them? That was almost like validating the hatred the fandom tends to show towards women. It's one thing to give the fans what they want and another to approve of their attitude. That was a little too much nodding for my taste.
